The months of May and June in the United States bring warmer weather, the transition to fun summertime activities, and holidays dedicated
to celebrating parents on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. While there are many ways to recognize the love and care provided by dedicated
moms and dads, there can be something very special about helping children honor their loved ones with personalized gifts. It is not
uncommon for parents to cherish handprint art, drawings, or handmade cards created by their children. Sometimes, teachers and therapists
may be the only caregivers helping children plan for holidays or encouraging them to make that meaningful gift.
One special—and sometimes hilarious—way to help young children honor their parents is by providing them with a series of questions that
they can answer about Mom or Dad. You can use the attached printable prompts during therapy or class activity sessions to help clients
address vocabulary, articulation, handwriting, or question-answering goals. As a bonus, parents are bound to be entertained (and maybe
even touched) by some of the answers their young children produce!
