We often see the American flag at schools, parades, important events, and
during holidays like Memorial Day and Independence Day. Our flag is an
important symbol of our country, the United States of America. It has 13
stripes to remind us of the first 13 colonies, and 50 stars to represent
all the states we have today. The red, white, and blue colors stand for
bravery, fairness, and freedom. We show respect for the flag because it
represents the values we believe in and the people who have helped protect
our country.
